The Enchanted Forest
Groombridge Place, Kent
Children will have a day to remember playing in this enchanted forest. This magical world of mystery and intrigue includes pretty tree lined forest paths with water pools, giant tree swings, a raised board walk with zip wires and rope swings, wooden bridges, a maze and Crusoe’s World which has a recreated pirate ship from a major TV series.
The Gardens include a formal Knot and Oriental Garden, a Secret Garden, the white rose garden and the wonderfully named Drunken Garden, a favourite of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Children will enjoy playing on the giant chess set.
See their beautiful peacocks which roam the gardens and look out for the famous Zedonk (half zebra, half donkey). The wild fallow deer can often be seen grazing in the meadows beneath the Enchanted Forest.
Take a trip on an open top canal barge to the enchanted forest, a lovely trip on the water way with lots to see, The captain will point out the many features along the way and you might even be lucky enough to see a Crocodile or two! (Additional charges apply)
The Raptor Centre, based at Groombridge Place, is the largest conservation centre for birds of prey in the South East. Flying displays take place twice daily (weather permitting).
